Finally! Bring on the Herceptin!!
Ya know..it's hard to know what the "right" thing to do is because I really don't think there is a "right" way with this mess that I'm in. So I've decided to possibly forfeit some clinical trials right now and go ahead with some treatment. Wednesday will be my first Chemo! What "cocktail" you ask? Well, it's Herceptin and Taxol weekly..not sure how many weeks..I guess they will be checking all along to see if it's working. I still have alot of questions for my oncologist but I have to see him on Wednesday anyway. They are going to do this first one with an I.V. and I will get my port in on Monday, so I'll have it for my next treatment.

Hi Sweetheart.....
ReplyDeleteSounds like the best approach is to get started with the chemo. Will be there soon with your mom, lots of hugs and kisses, my drivers license (poor girl you have to endure my driving), and you never know what else I've got up my sleeve. Remember, you have an awesome support team behind you to help fight this stuff! So let's go girl.....you've always amazed me with your strong independant spirit. I am so proud to be your aunt.
Love ya gobs,
Aunt Sandy
Laura-
ReplyDeleteI have been trying to figure out a way to help, and I think the best thing is just keep thinking positive for you. I am hoping you can breeze through this the way you do when you set your mind to anything. I think with your positive attitude and the love and support of your family and friends we will all be able to look back on this and know you kicked ass.
Let us know what you need, be it a cute scarf or a dirty joke we will all be here for you!
Love- Regina
Well, I guess the first comment I sent didn't go through...
ReplyDeleteI just want to set down and cry, but that's just a waste of time....
I'm glad your getting the show on the road and I can appreciate the difficulty your decisions was. I have to agree, who knows what's the RIGHT way. I suppose even the experts dissagree.
You have a great deal of support and a spirit that just doesn't quit, which gives me HOPE.....
Hang in there, we are here for you.
