Chemo #1 Down

Well, it really wasn't that bad..I had no side effects today and wasn't too tired when I was done..so I think in the future I will be able to drive myself. THANK YOU AMBER!! for taking me today..it sure did turn into an unexpected long day. We didn't know the 1st treatment was the longest, slowest, etc.
Had a nice dinner and have energy right now..it seems it will be a matter of time until some of the side effects creep in.
Doc is not sure right now how many weeks this will last..we'll see..it's just going to be a chronic disease to deal with for a long time but I think I can do it!
Thanks again to everyone for all your support! I am a very lucky gal to have such wonderful friends and family.

  1. That's great news. Did you ask the doctor if you could have your treatments transferred to Tahoe, that would save you some driving time. When is your next treatment, one week I think I remember. My mind doesn't remember too much when you get old.

Love you sweet niece keep us informed, Aunt Sher

  2. What determination! Go kick some butt! I hope you have time to check your work email cuz Georgia and I left a note for you. Now that I have this blog info I'll be checking in on you each week. If you need extra help getting to appts., getting that list of chores done, please let us in SLC know, I'm sure some of us can arrange a day with you. I love your spirit! I will check with a friend who won this battle about what she went thru, suggestions she may have. Love Ya....Becky

  3. I'm ecstatic that your first one went well--and I think you'll find it even easier once you get the port installed. Keep up the good work and spirits! Wondering if you have any side effects this morning.
I'll be there soon with some cheese and Kermit!! Love you as "big as the moon" (That's what Nick used to say to me when he was a tot!!). Ma

  7. I understand that your chemo treatment center wasn't very plush like your mom's. I guess you need to bring your own snacks and drinks next time. I'ts a bummer they won't let someone stay with you either......your mom used to make me look at the carb content on all the snacks and bring her some water and warm blankets! Oh well, as long as you keep sailing thru the treatments that's what counts!!! Have you had the chemo "farts" yet? Ask your mom about these....she was a hoot (or toot)!

Love ya sweetheart and will see you soon.
