I'm a bit tired right now..so in short, we are going to see another oncologist/hematologist at U.C. Davis just to have her opinion as well have her explain a couple of studies they are doing there that may be something we want to consider. As far as I understand it, as long as it stays in the bones, then we're in pretty good shape. It's gonna be a long haul..aggresive treatment...etc. Well, that's it or now..I'm drained at the moment..more later.Tuesday, October 27, 2009
There should be a prize....
for going from Stage II to Stage IV as fast as I did! I guess the bone biopsy came out with some carcinoma so....it has spread to my bones. Bummer! Who'd have thought!

Hang in there, Laura (and Chris!). We're all hanging in there with you. Wish we could carry more of the load, but be assured there are many prayers being sent up for you, and you have so many loving friends and family. Remember, if you need something, just ask. This is the time. Love you, Judy
ReplyDeleteI'm totally bumed out....I just don't know what to say. Except, the only thing that's changed is your cancer is a IV instead of II.
ReplyDeleteThe only difference is it's going to take a little longer.
And, Dear God, please no more surprises. Well mayby only good ones.
Love you gobs, little princess.
Aunt Carol

Princess - I don't know what to say except "THIS SUCKS". You know all your Ya Ya sisters are praying for you. This is going to be OK. They've done a lot of good things with cancer cures. I sure wish I could help you with something - just ask. I'm glad you have Chris to help you.
ReplyDeleteLove you Princess, Aunt Sher

Laura, you're right, you SHOULD get a prize: some good news for a change! Hey, Michael and I are thinking about you everyday.
ReplyDeleteYou know, we were just trying to remember the last time we actually got to visit with you in person. It's been a long long time, but somehow we always think of you as being part of our family circle, no matter how far away you've lived from us.
You keep hanging in there, and let your emotions do what they need to do. I told your Mom that I would try to see if there were any professors that I met at Mizzou who might have some info on alternative/nutrition therapies to look into in addition to what your docs recommend. And I might as well put this nutrition degree to some good use by searching the research databases for anything that might be out there, too.
We love you girl, even if we're separated by lots of miles!!!
Happy Halloween! Try to toss cancer aside for a day and carve a pumpkin or watch Young Frankenstein (our personal favorite for Halloween). You can see we don't go for the super-scary movies, we're wimps, haha.
ReplyDeleteStill thinkin' good thoughts in your direction, Laura. Eat some extra candy-you deserve it!!
PS.... Michael and I decided to have a Halloween party this year. I wish you lived closer so you could come. We would give you a GIANT GIANT hug!!! (and then make you laugh with my very lame zombie costume)
ReplyDeleteHey Laura, keep hanging in there. Don't know what's going on, but that doesn't mean we aren't still thinking about you. Hope you're finding a little time and energy each day to do something you enjoy. I know it's tough, take good care of yourself, and let others take care of you too!
ReplyDeleteLove you bunches, Susie
PS I guess maybe you're getting your port installed. They're a little uncomfortable at first, but then they totally rock compared to IV's.
